Watching Your Child's Progress

Educators use the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), to observe children in everyday activities and gain a clear understanding of their developmental progress, interests and learning styles. The observations are continuous and intentional, focusing on physical, social, emotional, language and cognitive development. These observations help educators identify each child's individual strength, skills and areas where they might need additional support.    

Each child will have their own digital portfolio and Learning Journal. The digital portfolio will contain observations, reflections and further planning that has been organised for your child. Your child’s learning Journal may contain photos, work samples, summative assessments and checklists as your child develops and moves from group to group. 

The Xplor app will keep you up to date with your child's early years education, as our educators post information about the activities and learning experiences every time your child attends. There is also a copy of the monthly program "Learn Through Play" in the centre that you are welcome to review and discuss with your child’s educator if you wish. 

You are also welcome to make an appointment with the Director or your child’s educator to give your feedback on your child's learning and development and/or to give us feedback on how you feel your child is progressing at Little Taddies.
